About runbikeclimb

Welcome to runbikeclimb, the story of an ordinary couple and our journey to better health, fitness and overcoming new and ever-changing obstacles! As the title suggests, running, bicycling, and rock climbing have been exciting new avenues to achieve these goals and do things we never thought were possible. However, we plan to have many other topics for discussion (that don’t necessarily flow off the tongue as well as runbikeclimb).

The authors

pathguy: “Over the course of 2010-2011, I lost a good deal of weight and generally got to the best physical fitness, and hopefully health, of my life so far. I am 6’5″ and have weighed from about 323 pounds to about 220. But, as I hope you’ll find in the pages of this site, I think other parameters than weight are much better measures of a person’s fitness and health. Questions like: “How did you do it?,” “What’s your goal [weight]?”, and “Are you finished losing weight?” led to the inception of this site, in the hopes that we might figure out the answers, possibly inspire others, and provide a support system for ourselves to continue breaking down our physical and (probably mostly) mental barriers. By day, I am a medical professional in the field of surgical pathology, without formal training in fitness, weight loss, or other forms of preventative medicine.”

eyegirl: “My aim is to lead a balanced, stress-free life with as few migraine headaches as possible.  I have lost about 20 lbs on this journey as well – not as dramatic as pathguy, but regular exercise has improved my quality of life a great deal and for that I am grateful. It’s not a magic bullet, but exercise has helped out with the migraines as well.  I hope to inspire other women through my experiences.  My blog posts are not a form of or replacement for medical advice of any kind.”

Disclaimer:  Anyone intending to lose weight or alter their health/fitness regimen should consult with their primary care doctor, which we are not.  Many of the activities we write about such as rock climbing can lead to serious injury, so be careful. The proper precautions, safety measures and training must be completed before beginning any kind of physical activity.  If you read this blog and then go out and hurt yourself, that is a bummer, but we are certainly not liable.

  1. SO happy for the both of you! Keep going. And pathguy, even though you are about half the superstar that you once were, you are even more of a superstar now! And eyegirl, you look as beautiful and healthy as always!

I look forward to following you both on your journeys.

And always, always, remember to stay classy!

  2. So excited to read your blog! As I work toward my own fitness goals, it helps to read about the positive results of others and how they achieved them.
